A day on the ground floor
The only home in the building you reach without climbing anything.
- Before fajr
The road is audible before it is busy. Main Ferozepur Road never fully stops, and the ground floor hears it first — this is the floor where a heavy curtain and a well-sealed window frame are worth real money.

The school van pulls up. Out of the door, across the lobby, into the van — no stairs with a schoolbag, no shoes carried down two flights.
- Mid-morning
A delivery arrives and is taken at the lobby rather than left with a neighbour two floors up. Everything that has to be carried into this home is carried on the level.
- 2pm, June
The coolest floor in the building. Two storeys of concrete above take the sun before it reaches your ceiling, and the slab underneath holds its temperature.
- Evening
Groceries come out of the boot and go straight in. This sounds small until you have carried a month's atta up two flights in August.
- After isha
The street is at its loudest and you are closest to it. That is the trade you accepted for never climbing a stair, and it is the one to be honest with yourself about before you sign.

- Households with an elderly parent, or anyone for whom stairs are a daily calculation
- Families with small children and a pram
- Anyone who loads and unloads a car often
- Buyers who would rather pay more than climb

- Light sleepers who have not tested themselves against a main-road night
- Buyers who want a long view, or the quietest home in the building
- Anyone for whom the price is the deciding factor — this is the dearest floor
Worth knowing before you buy this one
About the noise
Do not take our word for it, and do not judge it at 11am. Ask to see the ground floor between 8pm and 10pm on a weekday, standing inside with the windows shut. If it is liveable for you then, it is liveable.
Why this floor costs the most
Not because it is bigger or better finished — all three floors are the same plan. It costs the most because it is the only one you never have to climb to, and in a building with no lift that is the thing people pay for.
