A day on the ground floor
Your door opens onto the street. Nobody walks past your home to reach theirs.

The road is audible before it is busy. Ferozepur Road never fully stops, and the ground floor hears it first — this is the floor where a heavy curtain and a well-sealed window frame are worth money.

The car is parked at your door. Groceries come out of the boot and go straight in. This sounds small until you have carried a month's atta up two flights.
- After isha
The street is at its loudest. Your windows are between you and it. This is the trade you accepted for the front door, and it is the one to be honest with yourself about before you sign.

About the noise
Do not take our word for it, and do not judge it at 11am. Ask to see the ground floor between 8pm and 10pm on a weekday, standing inside with the windows shut. If it is liveable for you then, it is liveable.

A street-facing door is a street-facing door. Budget for a proper grille and a good lock from the outset rather than treating it as an upgrade later.
